The Jimmy Stewart Museum

Tour the birthplace of actor Jimmy Stewart

James “Jimmy” Stewart was born in Indiana, Pa., on May 20, 1908.

An American film and stage actor, he was known popularly for his distinctive drawl — so popular, in fact, that you might hear his voice counting down the seconds as you cross three Philadelphia Street intersections in downtown Indiana.

Indiana’s hometown hero, he served in the military during World War II, causing celebration all over town when he returned home.

If you’re visiting Indiana County, you might check out the Jimmy Stewart Museum, which showcases his accomplishments in film, radio and TV.

The museum also features one of Stewart’s films every Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. in its 1930s vintage movie theater.
